The Future of Guardian Witch (Plus dialogue update!)


Fixes

You can skip dialogue now! Or at least the introductory dialogue. I'd attached some of the dialogue to various objects and I'm too lazy to adjust code for every one of them. Thanks to brandtware for the pointers. Dialogic sometimes messes up the dialogue order when you drag the dialogue nodes around, so I've fixed that too (as far as I've noticed). Finally, the player animation won't play during "cutscenes", and looks a little less silly. 

This is probably teetering on adding new features. Still, I think it's a minor enough change and also makes the game less tedious to get through. In my defence, that was detrimental to the gameplay because I do want players to play levels multiple times to figure out the optimal path.

Future Plans

This will probably be my final update to this game except for potential bugs; however, I've decided to work on an after-jam version of this game. What prompted this decision was reading through the notes I made when brainstorming.  There are many interesting ideas there (I might be a teeny bit biased), some of which are already partially implemented but aren't conveyed with the care and attention they deserve. The goal of creating the new version is to improve on existing systems and implement some of the ideas I had to cut out due to time constraints (unless they don't work, in which they'll remain on the cutting room floor). 

I don't have a plan yet but when I do, I'll make an update here (?). Thank you for reading this and playing Guardian Witch if you've done so.
